We read Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens, and feasted on a wonderful gumbo made by Joyce using her grandmother's recipe! Margot's email below captures the highlights:
Joyce:
Thanks for another fabulous night down south! As one of the “free” babes, I savored the delicious appetizers and meal. I thought the gumbo was perfect, the table décor was up to your usual high standard, (especially the flower pot…) and the desserts were out of this world. I loved the book and found the discussion really interesting. I enjoyed seeing Joann and missed the missing babes, Ellen, Diane and Sue.
The book for September is The Storyteller’s Secret: A Novel by Sejal Badani. See you all in September at my house. I hope to see you sooner but, if I don’t, have a great summer!
